Disneyland Birthday

For his ninth birthday, Joshua's awesome mother took him to California. On Friday, we went to the San Diego Zoo and for his actual birthday day, we went to Disneyland. He met Mickey and went on all the rides in the park. Maybe for his tenth birthday, I'll take him to get a haircut!!!

Love,
Laura C.

Aunt Eileen

I want to thank each of you for your prayers and apologize for not getting an update to you all sooner. This past week has been so totally draining and I've not been in the office much at all to send an e-mail.

Momma had her heart catheter on Wednesday. That took about an hour and they brought her back to the room to wait for her cardiologist, who was at another hospital. They told us she had 2 blockages. One in the bottom back that was about 80% and the position it was in could cause more damage than good if he messed with it. They told us the other "suspicious area" was at the top front of her heart and this one would need to be looked at closer with an ultrasound to measure called an IVIS. But they needed him to look at her pictures to decide how to proceed next. He decided to come straight over and work on Momma. So about 4pm they took her back in the heart cath lab and told us they would be doing an IVIS (which is an ultrasound in the artery) to measure the blockage in the front. After 1-1/2 hours, Suzanne and I started getting REALLY nervous. It shouldn't have taken that long. The nurse came out to tell us they were still working on her and were having some difficulty getting stints in the bottom back blockage. This totally floored us, as that's NOT what they told us they were going in to do to her. To make a long story short, she had some arm pain in her right arm during the procedure that we found out 2 days later was a heart attack during the procedure they weren't even suppose to do. Yeah, I'm a little upset, can you tell?

They ended up keeping her there until Friday afternoon and we brought her home. She is still tires rather easily and will have go undergo another procedure in the very near future to repair the top front part of her heart. I'm praying she gets a referral to a different doctor who will perform her surgery at St. Joseph's here in Atlanta. I'm afraid of this previous group that caused more damage. Please keep us in your prayers for strength, healing and wisdom from our heavenly father.

Love you all,
Cousin Rene'
